Series: Modern Art
From the moment I began my studies, I began to study art, because it is impossible to become a professional without knowing how the art market works, who is popular now and how and what modern artists paint. I must admit that the result shocked me. It turned out that I was too far from contemporary art and could hardly understand it. From this confusion and misunderstanding this series of works was born.
While drawing these pictures, I put my thoughts in order and calmed down for a while. This series is currently unfinished and I think that I will not finish it even in my old age, because there is so much I need to see and try to understand.
P.S. Works from this series are available for purchase at SaatchiArt
Artwork 116
This is not a banana, this is not yellow
This painting refers us to the installation of Maurizio Cattelan, the author of the installation with a banana glued to the wall.
With this work I wanted to show several ideas.
- art is conventional and repetitive (ask Joe Morford)
- it's really funny
- due to the convention of the image, we only say that a banana is drawn here, but in fact it is just paint on paper
- therefore, knowing everything listed above, we doubt that the color of this picture is yellow
Here's another joke for you - a certificate of authenticity is included.
All modern art is like a big joke among collectors and galleries. But that's not bad, is it?
